Outdoorsy Escapes Offers Prime RV Stays, Minus the Driving

If you’ve ever found yourself at a campsite and jealously looked over at the RV lot, there’s a new option to consider. That’s because you can enjoy the comfort and convenience of beds, a kitchen, and Wi-Fi without the need to own or even drive an RV to the site. Outdoorsy Escapes does that for you.

Outdoorsy is a leader in the world of RV and van rentals. Those can be picked up or delivered and then driven to your destination(s). Now, Outdoorsy has created Escapes at select destinations that let you pick an RV and site, which it then drops off there for you.

Outdoorsy Escapes curates an RV rental at a scenic destination of your choice so you can simply check in and out like a hotel.

Outdoorsy Escapes

If you’ve never driven one, the idea of renting an RV may seem daunting. Then there is the challenge of travel logistics between destinations and figuring out where you can and can’t park once there. These Escapes remove that hassle and even let you select something different for each destination if you’re on a road trip.

“Outdoorsy Escapes makes planning dream getaways effortless while the destinations provide the perfect backdrop for family togetherness and multi-generational trips,” said Outdoorsy Co-Founder and CMO Jen Young. “We’re removing the last big pain point — fragmented booking — while letting families skip driving large RVs.”

Outdoorsy partnered with Spot2Nite to combine its access to more than 40,000 RVs with preferred campground or resort-style sites based on views and amenities.

Outdoorsy Escapes Destinations

The Outdoorsy Escapes program debuts in Texas, California, and Florida with stays at 20 popular travel destinations where all-inclusive prices start at $245 per night. Those sites are mostly centered around RV resorts.

Campers who have seen RVs at traditional campgrounds may be unaware of the mix of activities and amenities available. For example, there’s the SKYE Hill Country Resort outside Austin, Texas, and the Coachella Lakes RV Resort outside Palm Springs, Calif. There, you can be close to natural attractions and still enjoy pools, hot tubs, fitness centers, dog parks, and restaurants onsite.

Young said that by peak summer, Outdoorsy will offer more than 150 destinations within the United States, including Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington.

The goal is to extend Escapes locations to more resorts, parks, and campgrounds available to regular Outdoorsy renters.

Booking RVs

Outdoorsy Escapes offers bookings up to 180 days in advance. The early booking matches the availability of the RVs with site availability. You can even rent multiple RVs for close-but-separate stays with friends and family.

While Outdoorsy has made a name for itself with RV or motor home rentals, it also rents camper vans and even pop-up trailers. RVs accommodations range from Class A luxury amenities to fifth wheels with kitchens and bathrooms included.

Since the RVs are fully equipped, your packing list can be a duffel bag of clothes and gear and a cooler full of food to transfer to the RV fridge.

We’ll be keeping an eye out for where additional destinations become available. Locations near, or within, state and national parks would surely beome a popular option for active travelers seeking both convenience and proximity in their travel plans.
