Before they launched Rocket Ramps, Ted Jaramillo and Henry Lanman were just two kids who wanted to ride mountain bikes. When their skills surpassed the trails and infrastructure available to them, the Santa Fe locals decided to take matters into their own hands.
“You can’t have a solid mountain biking scene without the trails to support it,” Jaramillo says.
Rocket Ramps specializes in designing and building custom bike parks and trails, often in regions where mountain biking infrastructure is minimal or nonexistent. Their work is shaping the future of the sport in New Mexico one jump at a time — literally.
“People think a trail just exists,” says Lanman, “but the amount of planning that goes into it is way more than anyone would guess.”
From dirt types to elevation flow, the Rocket Ramps crew designs trails with the rider’s perspective in mind. Their mantra? If you can build it, you can ride it. With every roll-in and berm they shape, they’re giving more riders the chance to experience that same spark.
