Canadian Suburb Shaken After Police Raid Finds Drugs, ‘Ghost Guns’ Despite Laws

Canadians have a lot of gun control laws these days. They’ve always had more than us, but they used to be pretty free, all things considered. Then Justin Trudeau got caught in “brownface” from one of his cosplays, and rather than just apologize, resign, or do literally anything else, he decided to focus on gun control–he learned from former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, apparently–and all was forgiven.

So, he made life hard for millions of Canadians.

But do you know who in the Great White North doesn’t care about that? Criminals. They get guns however they can, and even quiet suburbs aren’t immune to the issue.

Residents of a suburban cul-de-sac in east London say they were shocked when heavily-armed police officers in tactical gear descended on their quiet street and later laid drug manufacturing and smuggling charges against a father and son who had lived on the street for years.

The police raid happened May 29 on Fundy Avenue, with an “intense and sudden” police presence before dawn that ended with police seizing home-made guns, firearms parts, a 3D printer and an assortment of drugs.

“It happened very early in the morning,” neighbour Alex Raemisch said. “We saw the lights, sirens, and lots of activity.”

The small circle of houses is a tight-knit community, according to another neighbour Rachel Chew. There’s a communal basketball net for the kids on the street, and the neighbours have garage sales and barbecues together, she added.

“This place is a beautiful spot in the evenings and on weekends,” she said.

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) worked with the London police to investigate the two men and to conduct the raid. The two men were initially flagged in October 2024 when packages containing a silencer and a 50-round magazine were intercepted at a mail processing facility in Mississauga, officials said.

Apparently, this isn’t super unusual in Canada. These quiet neighborhoods seem to be the preferred place to make illegal goods. That’s probably because it’s where they figure the police are least likely to look.

Now, let’s remember that Canada doesn’t allow people to make their own firearms. Handguns are also tightly restricted these days, as is just about anything else you’d want to make with a 3D printer.

And yet, the guys making drugs in the neighborhood had no qualms about making guns, too.

I mean, it’s almost like criminals just don’t care about the law. Whatever happened to the good old days, when criminals were just as law-abiding as everyone else?

What is happening to the world, right?

Of course, many in the US think Canada is on the right track with their gun control efforts and that we should emulate them. They’ll ignore stories like this and keep focusing on whatever else they think will advance their agenda.

They’ll never acknowledge that criminals are the problem and that they’ll keep breaking laws to get what they want. We saw that with Prohibition. We saw it with the War on Drugs. You’re not keeping criminals from being criminals.

So, stop interfering with our rights out of some inane attempt to change human nature. We’re sick of it.
