I’ve said before that I’ll stand with just about anyone, regardless of their political positions on other topics, to defend the right to keep and bear arms. There are a few lines I won’t cross, obviously. Actual racists? Nope. People I believe to be grifters? Nyet. Violent organizations that want to destroy what makes this country great? Never gonna happen.
I think this is reasonable.
So, let’s talk about the “Socialist Rifle Association” for a second.
No, I’d never heard of them before Friday, when I came across an article at the Daily Wire about them, but it sure sounds like they fall into that last category of people I want nothing to do with.
A 10,000 member-strong group called the Socialist Rifle Association has been conducting weapons training for transgender and Marxist-Leninist extremists, and its members have been linked to at least four major crimes, including the firebombing of Tesla dealerships, a Daily Wire investigation found.

The Daily Wire was able to identify several violent crimes linked to Socialist Rifle Association members, with indications in each case that the violence was politically motivated.
On July 4, a group of militants allegedly swarmed law enforcement at an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas and “opened fire at the unarmed DHS correctional officers.” One of them, Benjamin Hanil Song, is charged with shooting a police officer in the neck. Song was a member of the Socialist Rifle Association’s Dallas-Fort Worth chapter, a fellow group member told KERA. Of the 10 co-defendants charged with attempted murder of a federal officer, at least two claimed to be transgender: Cameron Arnold, who went by Autumn Hill, and Bradford Morris, who went by Meagan Morris. Authorities recovered nine firearms in the home where Arnold lived with about six other transgenders.
On March 18 in Las Vegas, Paul Hyon Kim set on fire and shot up five Teslas, leaving a Molotov cocktail inside one, charging documents said. Tesla had, of course, been treated as a political symbol by the left because of Elon Musk’s support for Donald Trump.
The court papers said, “Kim has an Instagram page where he follows the Socialist Rifle Association’s page. In a post from October 2018, on the Reno Socialist Rifle Association’s Instagram page, is a picture of a subject that appears to be Paul Kim training with firearms.” Law enforcement said it retrieved a bolt-action rifle, an AK style rifle, and a newspaper article “about a mass shooting incident” from his apartment.
On January 20, the day Donald Trump was sworn in as president, Adam Matthew Lansky allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon. He returned to the same dealership a month later and shot it up using a semi-automatic rifle with a suppressor, according to court documents.
“Lansky is a competitive shooter and a former member of the Socialist Rifle Association. He is skilled and well-practiced in the use of firearms and combat scenarios. The [improvised incendiary devices] used by Lansky were all manufactured by him,” prosecutors said.
While I didn’t cite all of the incidents included in this report, I’ll note that this sure looks like four more acts of violence than we’ve found linked to the NRA. Just sayin’.
The co-founder of this organization, Faye Ecklar, was quoted as saying, “I believe firearms ownership is necessary because as a transgender socialist, half the country wants me dead, and the other half is happy to watch. Plus, the means of production won’t seize themselves.”
Oh, honey, you’re not important enough for anyone to want you dead. Half of the country might not agree with your politics or how you live your life, but that’s hardly the same as wanting to murder you.
But if you actually try to seize the means of production, well, that might change in a hurry, but that’s called self-defense, for the record.
Now, I have no issue with leftists arming themselves. The Second Amendment applies to everyone, and if they’re convinced that Trump is a tyrant in the making, then they have a civic duty to arm themselves in order to prevent that tyranny. I may disagree with their policies in so many ways, but our Founding Fathers never intended for just one faction to have the means to resist authoritarianism.
Where I do have an issue, though, is when they engage in violence and threats of violence against people they disagree with.
That’s far more likely when they honestly believe what Ecklar seems to believe, that people want them dead because of who they are. When you get that kind of thing in your skull, you can rationalize all kinds of things and tell yourself you’re just acting in self-defense, even if it’s preemptively. You’re only doing it to them before they can do it to you, after all.
And the fact that so many people believe this kind of insanity is likely a big part of why Charlie Kirk was killed. The alleged killer said the issue was “hate” or something, but it’s clear that he thought he was protecting his partner in some way, as well as trans people in general. That’s because people like this are so deluded that they can’t understand one can be “live and let live,” for the most part, without offering even tacit approval for how you live.
They’re convinced everyone wants them dead simply because they don’t want biological dudes changing clothes in their daughter’s high school locker room.
Just think, this is going on, and a lot of the people these vile individuals vote for think we should give up our guns.
Hard freaking pass.
