Airstream x Tommy Bahama: Tropical Retreat on Wheels

Few camper brands can claim the pedigree of Airstream. The iconic American company loves to remind us that founder Wally Byam built his first camping trailer using a Ford Model T chassis in the late 1920s. Comparing that first prototype to the brand’s latest van conversion feels like juxtaposing the Wright Brothers’ first plane with a NASA rocket.

Airstream continues to make new versions of its classic camping trailers, of course, but the brand offers fully equipped vans as well (though most of them are buildouts using the ever-popular Mercedes-Benz Sprinter). And as the allure of “van life” has evolved from hippie road trips to bougie sophistication, a new Airstream collaboration with Tommy Bahama aims for even higher heights of luxury.

The 2026 Tommy Bahama Touring Coach Lineup upgrades several Airstream van models with a reimagined decor collection that wants you to feel more relaxed than ever in your home on wheels. (And who among us isn’t looking to shed stress these days?) This $8,000 conversion is available as an add-on for the Atlas, Interstate 24GL, Interstate 24GT, and Interstate 19GT models.

Let’s take a peek inside.

2026 Tommy Bahama Resort Edition: Details

The beach-resort style of Airstream’s latest collaboration is somewhat of a left turn from the company’s most famous aesthetic. After all, Airstream has long represented a certain retro-futurism. If The Jetsons had a camping trailer, it would have to be one of Airstream’s shiny metal bullets, right?

But the Tommy Bahama Resort Edition collaboration jettisons that aesthetic in favor of the island life. There’s an undeniably timeless appeal to Venetian-style wood blinds, soft-hued panels, and tropical patterning of sheets and pillows — and these conversions have all that and plenty more.

For Airstream’s Interstate models, including the 19GT, 24GT, and 24GL, you’ll get:

  • Ultraleather seating with Tommy Bahama branding
  • Resort-style Venetian wood power blinds
  • Front floor mat with Tommy Bahama marlin logo
  • Lounge throw pillows and lumbar pillows in Tommy Bahama fabrics
  • Decorative tropical aluminum galley backsplash (except for Interstate 19GT)

If you have deep enough pockets to afford an Airstream Atlas, the brand’s top-of-the-line van offering, you’ll get even more luxury from the Tommy Bahama Resort Edition. After all, nothing says resort-style luxury quite like a personal liquor cabinet, right?

The Atlas’s exclusion additions include:

  • Woven vinyl accent wall at Murphy bed
  • Bar cabinet in entertainment center with LED top-down lighting
  • Liquor and wine bottle storage
  • Small storage drawer
  • Tommy Bahama queen duvet with two decorative shams

Exclusive Accessory Kit

Regardless of which van conversion you choose, you’ll also get an accessory kit with a figurative kitchen sink of Tommy Bahama goodies. So if the brand’s huge variety of beach-styled homewares is your style (and why would you be here, otherwise?), then you’ll likely get an extra kick out of these extras:

  • Fleece throw
  • Two decorative Tommy Bahama pillows
  • Two towel sets (total of four wash clothes, four hand towels, four bath towels)
  • Set of four Corkcicle Stainless Steel Cups with Marlin
  • Marlin bottle opener
  • Ice bucket
  • Tommy Bahama wood cutting board
  • Teak shower mat

2026 Tommy Bahama Resort Edition: Pricing & Availability

The Tommy Bahama Resort Edition is currently available on the Airstream website. As you select various options for your preferred van model, you’ll find the Tommy Bahama option under the Decor tab.

Prices start from $8,000 for the Interstate models, and go up to $12,000 for the flagship Atlas model. Delivery times are unclear, but you’ll likely have to wait until 2026 to get your island life on the road. But if you already know that you want to maximize your beach time (and do it in luxury), this package looks as luxurious as advertised.
