Tenacity Firearms Delivers Precision Rifles Unbelievably Fast: We Put Them to the Test

Rifle companies tend to make a lot of promises. Tenacity Firearms’ pitch is refreshingly simple. The company assembles precision rifles from high-end components, makes those rifles in America, and ships them quickly, rather than making you wait months. For those familiar with building custom rifles, the wait for those components can often mean missing an entire season while you twiddle your thumbs.

We put both the Tenacity ($3,995) and the Tenacity X ($4,995) on the line at our local range, and we certainly liked what the rifles did. They performed as expected, knowing the build and specs, and gongs were ringing even when distances stretched to the edge of the range.

More than that, though, we liked what the company did even more because, honestly, the turnaround time is the real product here.

In short: Tenacity Firearms gives you boutique components without the boutique wait in both the Tenacity and Tenacity X rifle options, and that might change how you shop for a precision rifle.

What Makes Tenacity Firearms Different?

Tenacity Firearms isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel here, just the way the wheel turns. The company sources recognizable parts and combines them into finished rifles, sold at clear retail prices on the website. Where the difference comes in is this: Tenacity keeps parts on the shelf.

The whole pitch is ready-to-ship high-end rifles and measured lead times. To promise a 5- to 7-day ship window, you have to buy and stock core components far ahead of time, which is where Tenacity really shines. These components are just not something people can get their hands on quickly.

The Tenacity Rifle ($3,995) comes built on a Defiance Renegade action with a Proof Research Sendero carbon barrel and a McMillan Game Warden 2.0 stock.

The Tenacity X Rifle ($4,995) bumps things up a notch with a Defiance AnTi-X action and a McMillan Mountain Tracker stock, while keeping the same Proof Research barrel and TriggerTech Primary trigger.

Both rifles arrive at your door professionally bedded from the shop to improve the action-to-stock interface, a small step that actually matters to serious shooters for shot-to-shot consistency.

Why the Parts List Matters

Put plainly, these parts here have reputations, and true gun enthusiasts know that parts matter..

Proof Research barrels are known for consistent harmonics and light weight. TriggerTech triggers are widely used for their crisp breaks. McMillan stocks are field-proven brutes for hunting. Defiance actions are used on premium builds because they handle heat and repeatable bolt timing.

Those names make it obvious Tenacity is assembling a product aimed at people who know parts and care about performance. These aren’t just tossed together en masse to get guns out the door.

What We Shot and How It Felt

We met up with Andrew Whitney of Tenacity for a quick breakfast at a local dive before heading out to the range. Once there, he got the Tenacity in 6.5 PRC and the Tenacity X in 6mm Creedmoor set and ready.

We started on paper to get warmed up and confirm zeros. The rifles settled in quickly, showing tidy groups.

With confidence on paper, we moved over to steel. The instant feedback always makes things feel a bit more fun. Once you’re reaching out to a bit further distance and getting the satisfaction of that delayed “ding,” you feel like you’re actually doing something.

Both the Tenacity and Tenacity X felt balanced and ready, with none of the rough edges you sometimes expect from a factory rifle. Granted, these two particular rifles were set up and fine-tuned for this shoot, but still. You could see the passion the brand has for the guns it sends out.

Turnaround Time, the Hidden Advantage

To be blunt: You can absolutely build these rifles yourself with all the same parts if you have the time and patience. However, you’ll probably end up paying a bit more, and you will wait. There’s really no way to get all these components into your hands quickly.

When a rifle with this componentry usually takes 4 to 8 months, having a ready rifle in days is a real advantage for hunters and shooters on a deadline. That practical speed is the company’s strongest selling point.

Weights, Calibers, and Configuration Choices

Tenacity lists consistent weight ranges across action lengths and barrel lengths.

Short actions with a 22-inch barrel start around 6.4 pounds. Medium actions fall closer to 6.6 pounds. Long actions, the larger magnum platforms, push near 7 pounds with a 24-inch barrel.

The rifles are offered across familiar and modern hunting chambers, including 22 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 25 Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 7 PRC, 7mm Backcountry, 300 PRC, and 300 Win Mag.

Price and Availability, Without the Fine Print

Tenacity lists the base Tenacity rifle at roughly four grand, and the Tenacity X at roughly five grand on the product pages we saw. Those prices put both rifles within range to below the typical custom build price when you factor in the cost of sourcing parts, particularly if you’re paying a gunsmith and not doing the work yourself.

How They Stack Up Against Hand Builds

If you’re a builder, you can obviously assemble a similar rig over time. It’ll just take exactly that: time.

For many hunters and buyers, this option means saving months of convenience. For diehard customizers, the option remains to modify the rifle later, but I think, for most shooters looking for this caliber of rifle, they’ll be surprised at how ready these rifles feel out of the box.

There’s no rule saying you can’t buy a Tenacity, pull it apart on your bench, and build a custom version without the wait.

I’m just saying… you could do that and still be in the green.

What to Watch For

The biggest unknown when buying a factory-built precision rifle is always the same, which is group performance with your chosen load. Tenacity’s builds arrive with high-quality components and professional bedding, which reduces risk. Still, you’re going to need test for accuracy and tweak things with the ammunition you plan to use.

Also expect inventory-driven availability swings. If they truly maintain a fast ship promise, that will be a competitive advantage. If inventory dries up, lead times could creep back toward the industry norm. I guess we shall see …

Final Verdict

Tenacity’s business model is blunt and sensible. The brand combines proven parts into a finished rifle and sells it at a price that challenges the idea that you have to custom-build to get premium pieces.

We liked both the Tenacity and the Tenacity X at the range. We liked the business case even more because, as someone once said, Time is money.

If you need a modern precision rifle that is ready right now, Tenacity is worth serious consideration. If you insist on a bespoke, built-from-the-ground-up rifle, heck yeah. Do it. Enjoy the wait time with that satisfaction. There’s no shame in that game.

Tenacity gives you the sensible middle ground, which is rare and valuable in this market these days.
