Denver Incidents Show Gun Control in Colorado is Working Out Just Great

Since the shooting in a movie theater in Aurora, it’s been clear that Colorado lawmakers are tripping over themselves to become one of the most anti-Second Amendment states they can. They keep passing laws after all, all claiming to be about reducing so-called gun violence, and we keep saying that the criminals don’t follow the law.

This is laughed off by the anti-Second Amendment types because they think they’re so clever.
But the truth is, criminals don’t. Only the law-abiding abide by the law, which means good guys are disarmed, and criminals do what they want. Take this shooting in Denver, for example.
At least three people were injured when shots rang out just before 3 a.m. Sunday following a fight at a house party in gun-controlled Colorado.
9 News reported the shooting occurred in Denver and was preceded by “a large fight.”
At least three people were shot and transported to the hospital and none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.
On Halloween night, a shooting at a party near Grand Junction left two dead, according to the Denver Post.
So three people were injured, two killed, in two incidents over the weekend, in Denver, where they have more extensive gun controls than the rest of the state, even.
And some people still want to tell us that gun control works?
Seriously?
Look, let’s understand that these incidents are probably not some regular guy just losing it and going on a killing rampage. These are likely criminal individuals who were never lawfully able to own a gun. Or, if they could have, they likely obtained it illegally just the same. That’s what usually happens in incidents like this.

Yet Everytown ranks Colorado #10 for gun “safety” laws. They’ve got everything anti-Second Amendment folks claim they want everywhere else. They’ve got universal background checks, red flag laws, a duty to retreat law, a ban on so-called ghost guns, pretty much the works, and how did that work out in Denver over the weekend?
Here’s the kicker, though. I could probably do this in every major city in every anti-gun state in the country. Every single one of them.
Why?
Because criminals don’t obey the law. Gun control only keeps regular folks from accessing firearms as easily as their criminal opponents. So-called gun violence isn’t because of regular people who just want to live their lives in peace. That’s never been the case. But when those regular folks come to understand that some people don’t want to leave them be, they want a gun to protect themselves, and that’s where these states create a problem.
And yet, what will be the most likely response to these incidents, like what we saw in Denver over the weekend? More gun control.
Every. Single. Time.

It’s just sad, but the people there keep voting for it.
The right to keep and bear arms is ignored, all in the name of ending violence, only for it not to end the violence. Funny how that keeps being the case, isn’t it?
The truth is that anti-Second Amendment types will never learn. They won’t learn because they refuse to see facts through any lens but their own distorted lenses.
And we’re the ones that will ultimately pay for that if we don’t win.
