2027 Ram TRX Regains Apex Predator Status: Less Money, More Power Than Raptor R

The beast is back. Ram Trucks has just made the return of its TRX official, but this isn’t the same truck as before.

It has evolved, with a new supercharged Hemi V8 that makes it the most powerful production pickup ever. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX has one heck of a name, but it’s also going to have one heck of a price tag.

2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Stomps on Ford Raptor

Ram and SRT boss Tim Kuniskis isn’t holding back on his excitement for the new truck. “Bringing back the nameplate isn’t enough. Ram set the bar five years ago with 702 horsepower, and that benchmark has been challenged. SRT doesn’t limbo; we high-jump — and 721 wasn’t going to cut it.”

So instead of one-upping the Ford F-150 Raptor R with that 721 figure, Ram crushed it. It’s got 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque — 75 extra ponies and 40 more torques thanks to new engine management and new engine hardware. Ram calls this a new variant of the 6.2L supercharged V8, not just a warmed-up old one.

Up to 14 Inches of Suspension Travel

Most of the rest of the off-road hardware remains the same, but it’s no less impressive — with 35-inch tires hiding Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers, for a start. The remote reservoir shocks come from the less powerful but immensely capable RHO and help give it 13 inches of front suspension travel and 14 in the rear.

At the back, a full-float Dana 60 axle contains the immense power. It uses a five-link rear suspension to complement the special control arm design in the front. SRT, the Stellantis performance arm, has also added enhanced jounce bumpers and progressive jounce control to keep the truck under control when you land that sweet jump.

Like the RHO, it has 11.8 inches of air under the lowest point of the TRX. It’s also 6 inches wider than a standard Ram, thanks to pushed-out fenders and big wheels and tires.

This Dino Is More Advanced Inside

The new truck gets the updated body and cabin that standard Rams adopted the year the old TRX died. It has a standard 14.5-inch center screen, and the system is five times faster than before.

Ram’s new cabin is more luxurious, too, with recline and ventilation for the back seats. It gets a leather-wrapped airbag cover and a full-suede headliner from the Ram 1500 Tungsten. It even has Ram’s hands-off driver assist system.

There’s even a new badge to celebrate the return of the TRX. It’s a much more aggressive dino than before, ready to tear some heads off of some Raptors.

2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Isn’t Cheap, But It Is a Bargain

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is launching with a special edition. The Bloodshot Night Edition gets a hand-painted black roof and hood and a custom-painted center stripe. It also gets beadlock-capable wheels, a glass-encased badge on the center console, and some serious graphics on the side.

All of this truck won’t come cheap. The basic TRX starts at $99,995 plus $2,595 destination. Still, that’s only about $1,500 more than last time, and $15K less than Raptor R. This means the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX has badge and power inflation, but very little on the price front. The new trucks will arrive in the second half of 2026.
