All of these options are fine but for the purpose of this article, we are going to be focusing on raised beds and container gardening. Growing a garden can be fun and many view it as a hobby, but when it comes to a survival garden, you need to make smart choices with what you grow. This is because you want the most calories you can get in the area you are growing. Below are a few popular, high-caloric choices.
Arugula
This peppery green is another speed demon in the garden, often harvestable in just 3–4 weeks. It’s not a calorie powerhouse, but it’s loaded with nutrients and makes an excellent salad green or cooking green while you’re waiting on slower crops.
