Anti-Gun Actress Pledges To Step Away from Violent Films After Career Filled With Them

Actors have always had this idea that their own political beliefs somehow mattered to their audiences. Luckily, before social media, it was pretty easy to ignore them and just enjoy the work…unless they sucked at it.

But these days, it’s prime time for actors and actresses who support gun control to decide to lecture Americans about how we’re wrong for valuing our right to keep and bear arms.

It’s always especially rich to hear people talk about how you and I shouldn’t have guns from people who make a lot of money handling a firearm on film, whose industry keeps getting excluded from numerous gun control laws, and who keep churning out movies that are filled with violence.

In other words, guns are bad, but not when there’s money to be made.

One of the worst has been Julianne Moore. A talented actress, Moore has been a complete moron for pushing gun control, even as she’s had a firearm in her hand for a fair number of films. Now, though, she’s promising those days are over for her.

Speaking from the European elite artsy mecca of film — in a country with no constitutional gun rights and strict laws all but suffocating civilian ownership — one of Hollywood’s recognizable actresses declared she’s had enough.

After decades of participating in films, many of which included guns, shootings, scenes of violence and she herself handling and using a firearm, actress Julianne Moore pontificated that she no longer wished to act in films with violence.

“I don’t like someone being murdered. I don’t like explosions and guns,” she told a crowd during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival last week in France. “Particularly now at a time when things are really rough globally, it’s very difficult for me to invest in a story that I think is pretend,” she said.

Moore, one of Hollywood’s most progressive, far Left, antigun actresses, now resides in New York City… at a residence that has private security. She also might want to check what the crime stats reveal about violence in the United States right now.

Still, she’s now stepping away from violent films because it doesn’t align with her values or something. Very noble for someone who has accumulated a net worth estimated to be around $55 million by making movies like that.

No, she’s not someone who has made that her entire career, but she’s made a lot of movies where violence features front and center, such as Hannibal, The Kingsmen: The Golden Circle, or Suburbicon. Guns have been a big part of several of those films, including being in her hand, and more than a few came out after she embraced the mantle of a gun control advocate.

Now that it’s unlikely that Hollywood is going to cast the 65-year-old actress as Jane Wick, suddenly her principles won’t let her take part in violent films.

Convenient.

And yeah, as noted above, crime in the United States dropped faster than ever before in history, all at a time when there are more guns on the street than ever before. Not that the out-of-touch Hollywood elite are familiar at all with what ordinary Americans actually deal with on a day-to-day basis.

After all, she goes from taking plenty of roles in films with violence, making a lot of money in the process, and then, when the door is likely to shut on that part of her career anyway, suddenly she’s too principled to do those kinds of movies anymore, all while the rest of us she wishes to see disarmed have no choice about whether or not violence will be a part of our lives, our work, or anything else.

Editor’s Note: The radical Left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights.
