Biking in Greensboro: Trails, Greenways, and Local Favorites

With more than 50 miles of interconnected trails and a thriving road biking scene, Greensboro, North Carolina, is one of the best under-the-radar cycling scenes in the Southeast. Local Greg Lawrence has been biking here for nearly a decade.
“I bought my first bike because I was tired of driving around looking for parking,” says Lawrence. “I didn’t realize I was cycling until much later.”
Whether he’s catching up with the Lindley Park Velo Club, stopping by Revolution Cycles, or starting his day with a quick ride and a pumpkin chocolate chip muffin from Spring Garden Bakery, Lawrence’s love for the local bike culture is unmistakable.
“Riding bikes is such a good way to play,” Lawrence says. “We kind of joke that we sound like kids when we’re hitting up our friends, saying, ‘Hey, wanna go ride bikes? Wanna hit the trails? Wanna play in the dirt?’”
Watch the video to see how the extensive network of cycling trails — from laid-back greenways to gnarly mountain biking routes — is the ultimate playground for biking enthusiasts in Greensboro.
