Former Biden Official Says Israel Has Committed War Crimes

Former State Department spokesman under ruler Joe Biden, Matthew Miller, says the United States could have done more to prevent deaths in Gaza. Miller added that Israel is guilty of war crimes âwithout a doubt.â
The ex-spokesperson served as one of the public faces of former President Joe Bidenâs staunch support for Israel as it killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and flattened much of the enclave.
âI donât think itâs a genocide, but I think it is â without a doubt â true that Israel has committed war crimes,â Miller said.
Others tend to disagree that it isnât genocide, however.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, United Nations experts and leading rights groups have accused Israel of genocidal acts â an effort to destroy the Palestinian people in full or in part.
Millerâs comments raise questions on why the Biden administration continued to arm Israel despite US laws that restrict military aid to countries that commit violations of human rights and international law.

During his time with the State Department, Miller regularly clashed with journalists who questioned the U.S. response to Israelâs handling of Gaza, including bombings of medical facilities and camps sheltering Palestinian civilians.
Miller claimed that he was not relaying his own opinions either. He only relays those of the current U.S. president as his spokesperson.

Miller added that Biden often had disagreements with Secretary of State Antony Blinken over genocide and war crimes committed by Israel. He said that âthere probably wasâ more that the US could have done to pressure Israel to stop the war and prevent the killing of âthousands of ⌠innocent civilians who didnât want this warâ.
