Indian Publication Looks at American Stabbings, For a Change

Usually, when I see something from outside of the United States that is even remotely associated with gun control, it’s someone who doesn’t live here saying that we should totally do what the rest of the world did because rights aren’t really a good reason to preserve a right, or something to that effect.

Every now and then, though, we get something kind of based.

I’m not quite sure I’ll put this piece in that camp, but I do appreciate it. After all, when someone looks beyond high-profile shootings and looks at American high-profile stabbings, it’s going to be an interesting day.

Knife violence rarely dominates the headlines, yet the FBI reports that knives account for 9% to 10% of US homicides annually. Their accessibility makes them the ultimate “invisible” threat, nearly impossible to track or prevent. This reality was brought into tragic focus just yesterday, February 24, 2026, in Purdy, Washington.

Here are five shocking stabbing incidents in the US.

What Was the Purdy, Washington Massacre in 2026?

On February 24, 2026, a 32-year-old man entered a Purdy area cul-de-sac and stabbed four people to death. According to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was the son of one of the residents and was in violation of a no-contact order that had not yet been formally served.

The attack unfolded in broad daylight within minutes. Responding deputies shot and killed the suspect on-site, ending a spree that has left the Gig Harbor community in shock.

What Occurred in the 2025 Traverse City Walmart Mass Stabbing?

In 2025, Bradford James Gille entered a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, and stabbed eleven shoppers. According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, the attack appeared random and unprovoked. Bystanders subdued him before police arrived, highlighting how mass stabbing incidents can unfold in routine public settings.

While anti-gunners routinely claim that a high-profile stabbing, including a mass stabbing attack, would be so much worse if a gun were used, that’s predicated on their own biases.

Guns can be pretty deadly, sure, and you can shoot someone at a greater range than you can stab them with a knife, but the other side of things is that the sound of gunfire sends people running, while knives are silent. That means a lot of people remain oblivious to the threat until it’s too late.

Moreover, the fact that some of these people are killers even without a gun is an important reminder of something I always say: It’s not the tool, it’s the tool using it.

In this case, it’s a knife in the hands of someone who wants to kill people.

This particular report didn’t bring up Iryna Karutska’s murder in Charlotte, though it did bring up the four University of Idaho students who were brutally murdered while they slept in their off-campus apartment.

There are a lot of high-profile killings that get forgotten about because no one beats the drum to keep them in the public consciousness like they do with shootings.

And there are a lot of stabbings that never become “high-profile” simply because they’re stabbings.

Our own media refuses to look at these, nor the reported 44 massacres carried out with a knife since 2006, nor the reported 12,000 murders carried out with knives every year.

Instead, they want to focus on the guns, because knives are still handy for homicides, but guns represent a threat to any government that seeks to control what we say, what we read, and what we watch. They’re a threat to any government that tries to control what we know under the guise of “combatting misinformation” or whatever other euphemism they concoct.

So, these don’t get the same attention, even if the deaths are just as tragic. They downplay these incidents, pretending that they’re less of a threat because guns are bad, all in an effort to convince people we don’t need to be concerned with people, just guns.
