More Evidence of How Well Canadian Gun Laws Work

Canada used to be alright on guns. Sure, they had gun control, but it wasn’t as bad as most places, and you could have some stuff up there that we couldn’t have, such as short-barreled rifles and shotguns. Then everything went south and it’s an anti-gun wasteland in so many ways.
But at least criminals aren’t getting guns in the Great White North, right?
Right?
Right?
Oh, well…this is awkward.
Drugs, guns and explosives.

Prince George RCMP have made a seizure of firearms, illicit substances and even hand grenades during a two-day bust of local drug operations.
On June 6 and 7, police searched several locations in Prince George.

As a result, police seized nearly 20 kilograms of suspected cocaine across the various sites, methamphetamine, MDMA and ketamine. More than a dozen cases of contraband cigarettes and a number of high-powered firearms and handguns with ammunition were also found.

During a search of one apartment, police found a handbag containing what appeared to be hand grenades. Residents of the complex were evacuated, while explosives handlers were brought in from the Lower Mainland to destroy the grenades, which were determined to be real and functional.
“These findings represent a significant increase to the threat level we are encountering within the illicit drug trade in Prince George,” said Sgt. Dan Morris, commander of the street crew unit. “As the hub city for Northern B.C., we are seeing an increase in the amount of drug trafficking through our community, both as a destination as well as a through point for other cities in the area. We will continue working diligently to disrupt drug trade activity through initiatives such as this one as well as through strategic networking with partner agencies.”
The weapons include a couple of handguns, two AR-style rifles, and something else I can’t really make out in the photo above.
All of those four, though, are heavily regulated in Canada these days, which is clear because the criminals have them. Regular folks are just waiting for the Canadian government to figure out how to make them hand their ARs over, but the criminals aren’t all the at worried about it. Then again, they’re not worried about meth, cocaine, ecstasy, or ketamine, either.
And they had grenades. Not inert, dummy grenades, mind you. The real thing.
I wish I could get a grenade without a thousand hoops to jump through, but nope.
Bad guys in Canada can get them, though, apparently. I’m pretty sure that didn’t come from the lawful market there, either.
It doesn’t matter how many times we say it and show it to be true; gun control laws don’t stop criminals. They have their own ways of getting things, even if the lawful market doesn’t exist anymore. They don’t care. They’ve never cared about the law because, spoiler: They’re criminals.
Canadian gun control laws are similar to what a lot of people would like to see happen here. They want the same laws and will swear that they work, all while ignoring stuff like this. They’ll stick their heads in the sand and pretend it never happened.
That’s willful stupidity if ever there was such a thing.
