SAF’s Kostas Moros Takes Anti-Gunners to School in One X Post

In the wake of almost any high-profile shooting, anti-gun jihadists engage in their usual push for gun control. The more sympathetic the victims, the harder they push.
It’s inevitable, unfortunately.
But there are so many things they ignore, downplay, or otherwise leave out of their “arguments” that it’s not even funny.
Second Amendment attorney Kostas Moros, who now works with the Second Amendment Foundation, just took every anti-gunner to school on X over the Labor Day weekend.
And he did it in just one post.
Millions of people own me. Some own lots of me and use me regularly.
I am very dangerous in the wrong hands.
I am used to kill 178,000 Americans per year.
I also kill 4,000 children per year.
13,000 people per year die because I am intentionally misused against them.… pic.twitter.com/sF5IyXEXWF

And because a lot of people didn’t read the whole post, it continues:
Many more die per year by using me to kill themselves. Â
I used to be banned, but people got around the ban, and it eventually was lifted. Â
I am alcohol.Â
Picture unrelated.
Now, Moros goes on to note that he has no interest in banning alcohol, which is good because you can have my bourbon collection when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.
However, his overall point is quite good.
Alcohol is especially poignant because it was banned, but that didn’t stop people from drinking. It just created a thriving trade in illegal alcohol.
Moreover, during the pandemic, when everything was being locked down and many states tried to shut down gun stores, saying they weren’t essential, guess what stayed open pretty much everywhere? That’s right, the liquor stores.
Yet alcohol isn’t the only example of something that is perfectly legal and perfectly deadly.
There are 480,000 deaths from tobacco use in the US each year. 41,000 of those are the result of second-hand smoke. Those are people who are, essentially, killed by the actions of others. Where’s the outrage?
I’m not saying we should ban or restrict anything. I’m saying that if this were really about saving lives, where’s their outrage on literally everything else that kills people in ways that can be prevented?
And then we get to the fact that neither alcohol nor tobacco is a defensive tool. They’re not capable of protecting you and your family, or of overthrowing tyranny, or putting food on the table, or any of the positive things guns do each and every day, or are capable of doing if need be.
For all the hysteria about guns, there are far more dangerous things that are not just perfectly legal, but have the government stamp of endorsement to some degree or another.
Anti-gunners, contrary to what they might tell you, don’t care about saving lives. It’s not about that. It’s never about that. It’s always been about taking your guns, either from a misguided idea that it’s beneficial to society or something far more nefarious. If it were, they’d at least look at other ways people die and are killed through preventable means.
They never do. They never will.
