Second Amendment Foundation Announces Promotions

The Second Amendment Foundation recently announced a pair of promotions to two of their employees. Dana Wilson and Tanner Lineberry will both be taking on new roles through their promotions.
“Continuing to fulfill its mission to defend, secure and restore the right to keep and bear arms for all Americans, the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) has created two new positions and promoted current staff members to fill those roles,” a release stated. “Dana Wilson has been promoted to the role of Director of Development, and Tanner Lineberry will serve as the organization’s new Associate Director of Marketing.”
Lineberry and Wilson both joined the Second Amendment Foundation in 2024. Lineberry’s first day of work was during the Gun Rights Policy Conference that year, getting tossed right into action on day one.
“We’re always looking at ways to ensure we meet the organization’s strategic goals and objectives, and during a review of current needs it became apparent these new roles were pivotal for SAF’s future growth and ability to impact the right to keep and bears [sic] arms,” said SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut. “Given Dana’s and Tanner’s experience and backgrounds we felt they would be a perfect fit for the new positions. We look forward to watching their continued success and are excited about the further advancement of SAF’s Development and Marketing programs.”
Formerly, Wilson, a “veteran financial advisor and development professional” served as the Foundation’s major gifts officer. Wilson utilized her experience in “strategic communications, donor engagement and fundraising within various nonprofit sectors” to help SAF secure donations.
Lineberry’s former role was that of digital media manager. Lineberry can be credited with SAF’s successful social media presence to which he brought an edgy yet classy atmosphere to. He also served on the 2025 Alternative Mass Media Conference Committee and delivered a presentation on rebranding an organization.
“Defending the Second Amendment is about preserving a fundamental constitutional right, and the Second Amendment Foundation has been leading that fight for decades,” Lineberry told Bearing Arms in a statement. “I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to grow within SAF and to help further a mission that protects individual liberty and educates the public on the importance of the right to keep and bear arms.”
SAF’s release further noted:
The Development and Marketing departments both play key roles in securing funding for the organization’s cornerstone strategic litigation program, as well as educating the public about SAF’s critical work and the importance of the Second Amendment to promote a society that values and exercises the right to keep and bear arms.
To help move those objectives forward, Wilson will be tasked with implementing strategies to find new donors, work with current benefactors and develop unique ways to engage with future supporters. On the marketing side, Lineberry’s responsibilities will include creating new public education initiatives along with continuing to grow SAF’s recognition and reputation in the Second Amendment space.
Bearing Arms would like to wish both Wilson and Lineberry a hearty congratulations! These individuals organically become a part of the SAF family as the organization redefines itself for another half-century of activism. For more information about the Second Amendment Foundation visit: SAF.org
