Man Learns the Quickest Way to Get Kicked Out of a Gun Range

The very first rule of gun safety is “treat every gun as if it’s loaded.” The second rule of gun safety is “don’t point your gun at anything you’re not willing to kill.”
These rules are drummed into the head of every gun owner, even though they’re really just common sense. Every now and then, though, we get a reminder that common sense isn’t universal, and that there are morons walking among us… and maybe even one lane over at your local range.
RSO clocked them so fast. pic.twitter.com/iiYix8avpw

If you watch the video, the RSO is primed and ready to act even before the dimwit with the pistol decides to point it at his friend, which makes me wonder what else that dude was doing before the 30 seconds of video that we see.
I also wish this video had sound, though you don’t really need it to know how the pair reacted to the RSO’s actions.

That’s the universal sign for “what’d I do?” And the answer is “you were an irresponsible moron who probably can’t be trusted with a fork, much less a firearm.”

I mean, that’s mockable, but it’s not nearly as insanely stupid as pointing a loaded gun at your buddy. And there has been some excellent mockery in the comments.

Ripping open a box of ammo will earn you some eye-rolling and snickering from your fellow gun range patrons, but it’s not going to get you kicked out of the facility. Pointing a loaded pistol at your buddy while he takes a picture, on the other hand, is gonna get you booted in a hurry.

I think that’s only true for the terminally online. There are plenty of gun owners who don’t turn into drooling mouth breathers the moment a smartphone appears in someone’s hand.
Another example of why I don’t go to public ranges

I do most of my shooting on my property, but I’ve never run across anyone behaving this badly at a commercial range. People accidentally pointing the muzzle in an unsafe direction? Unfortunately, that’s happened more than once. This, though, was absolutely intentional, and that kicks the stupid up a couple of notches.
I do hope that the RSO took the time to explain to these goofballs exactly what they did wrong as he was escorting them to the door. Whether either of these two are actually smart enough to understand the severity of their mistake is an open question, but I’d like to think that this was a teachable moment for them… as well as everyone who’s now seen the video of their idiotic behavior.
